Local Reaction to CPR Strike

Mediated talks are underway between officials from Canadian
Pacific Railway and the Teamster’s Union.
Local CPR Spokesperson Rick Frenette is glad the Feds have brought in
a mediator but doesn’t expect much to change.
Frenette says a number of stumbling blocks remain and he expects the
Harper Government to introduce back to work Legislation.
Maintenance staff have been on strike for nearly 3-weeks.
The union is asking for a 13% pay hike and smaller service
areas.
