This is Giving Tuesday.
Local residents are asked to put aside some money to support a charity or volunteer your time with a community organization.
Executive Director of the GIV3 Foundation Woodrow Rosenbaum says the initiative started in the U.S., but has spread in Canada, with 6-million taking part in some way last year.
Rosenbaum says the initiative is simply a day to give back after Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
It was introduced in our country in 2013.
