Officials with the Screen for Life Coach say screening rates need to improve in northwestern Ontario.
A recent Ontario Cancer Screening Performance Report showed that only 62.6% of local women are up-to-date with breast cancer screening and 60.5% are up-to-date on their cervical cancer screening.
The report also found that 44% of adults in the region, between the ages of 50 and 74 years, are overdue for colon cancer screening.
The statistics come right before a regional tour of the cancer screening bus, scheduled to begin April 8th in Dryden.
