Snowfall in May is not all unusual in Northwestern Ontario according to Environment Canada.
Senior Weather Specialist, David Phillips says records indicate snow has fallen across the region in May in 49 out of the past 60 years.
Phillips says below normal temperatures will likely continue during ther month of May.
As for the long range forecast, Phillips says the outlook calls for warmer than normal temperatures in the summer.
