Long term care food costs

Local long term care facilities are applauding a provincial government decision to increase the daily food supplement for their residents.

Starting September 1st, the food allowance will increase to seven dollars a day, up from five dollars and 57 cents.

Kevin Queen is the Chief Administrative Officer of Princess Court in Dryden and says the extra money will make a huge difference for them.

N001 Q: …overdue. (18 secs.)

The provincial government had just increased the daily food allowance back on July 1st, but Queen says this most recent increase is pretty significant.
