A 53 year old Winnipeg man has found a new use for his cellphone.
The photographer went for a walk in the bush just off an
access road on Lake of the Woods on Saturday.
After spending three hours in the woods, Peter McConville
became disoriented and couldn’t find his way back to his car.
He decided to use his cellphone and call the O.P.P.’s Communications Center in Kenora.
The Northwest Region Emergency Response Team was dispatched, and they found the missing man’s car.
They then activated their sirens.
McConville, was still on the line with the O.P.P. and
told them he could hear the sirens.
He was rescued a short time later, and checked out by
paramedics.
