Lots of Comments Regarding Dryden Healthcare

Lots of public feedback at a meeting on Friday regarding the healthcare system.
Kenora Rainy-River MPP Sarah Campbell and NDP Health Critic Frances Gelina addressed issues, and bringing them to parliament.
Gelinas says she was surprised with some of the “so called” policy decisions, that aren’t grounded at all.
She adds they are putting people through a lot of hardship and that the issues will be brought up to the Ministry of Health.
Campbell says that while a lot of people were unhappy with the healthcare system, there was some positive feedback as well, such as the support from community health centers.
The main issues that were brought up were accessing a physician and booking appointments, home care and long term care.
In Northwestern Ontario, there is one physician for every 4,500 people.
In comparison, in Toronto there is one physician for every 350 people.
