Sioux Lookout Supports East-West Corridor

Sioux Lookout is jumping on board by saying yes to an east-west transportation corridor.
The municipality and Pickle Lake are calling on the provincial government to reconsider its decision to develop a North-South road from the Ring of Fire to Northern First Nations communities.
Dennis Leney says the east-west is the way to go because it will be environmentally safer for the First Nations communities up North because there are no major rivers that people need to cross.
He adds while the final decision is going to take some time, they will have to keep fighting so that the public can realize it’s not going to be a good thing for the environment.
