Low Life Expectancy Rate In Northwest

Some concerning stats are being released by the Northwestern Health Unit.
Officials say people in the region are expected to live 4 years less then our Southern Ontario counterparts.
Dr. Kit Young-Hoon is the Medical Officer of Health and she says there’s a number of causes behind our lower life expectancy.
She says that includes heart disease, injury and suicide.
At birth men in the region are expected to live almost 76 years while the age for women is just over 79 years.
In general people in the region are expected to live about 77 and a half years compared to 81 and a half years in the rest of province.
