Low Water Levels

Water levels are extremely low on Rainy Lake, near Fort Frances.
Officials are blaming a lack of snow over the winter and the absence of spring rains.
A Spokesperson says the level is about one foot lower than usual for this time of year.
As a result, the minimum outflow required from Rainy Lake into Rainy River now exceeds the inflow of water coming into the lake.
