Lower Emissions Touted

The Canadian Electricity Association says its members have been able to contribute to a nearly 6 per cent reduction in air emissions last year.

In an annual report, the Association says other air pollutants such as nitrogen oxide, sulphur dioxide, and mercury emissions also dropped.

President and Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchi says the achievements help strengthen Canada’s position at the upcoming Conference of Parties meeting in Paris later this year.
