Water levels and flows throughout the Winnipeg River
drainage basin are very high for this time of year.
The Lake of the Woods Control Board is worried summer
residents didn’t prepare for the high water levels.
Spokesperson Rick Cousins says conditions have changed
dramatically since the early fall, and seasonal residents
should check their docks and other shoreline property.

Lake of the Woods has risen 30 cm since the end of
September, while Winnipeg River levels below Kenora have
risen 1.7 meters.
