Outside costs played a factor in the 2008 municipal budget in Machin.
Taxes will be going up 3.7%, with a 2.65% hike in the
commercial rate.
Mayor Gary Parkes says Machin had to pay $27,000 for policing and $17,000
to the Kenora District Services Board.
$7,000 has been set aside for a road study and the Town plans to hire
2-seasonal employees to maintain the waterfront and other areas of the community.
Council will also be providing $5,000 for the CT Scan Unit
at the Dryden Hospital.
