Bombardier in Thunder Bay is being ordered to bring back an employee they fired for allegedly using cannabis on their property.
An arbitrator’s ruling states the company didn’t show that it was likely the man smoked marijuana on the plant property, or that he didn’t.
The worker is to be given his job back without a loss in seniority and needs to be paid back his lost wages.
The ruling goes on to say that Bombardier didn’t have cause to fire him for being under the influence, consuming, using or possessing marijuana.
