A 57-year-old Manitoba man has been identified as the victim of a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 17 between Vermilion Bay and Kenora.
Provincial Police say three tractor trailer units collided near Percy Lake, about 20-kilometres east of the Highway 71 junction just before midnight Wednesday.
Police say an eastbound transport collided with a westbound tractor trailer unit, while a third westbound transport hit the north ditch in an effort to avoid the crash.
OPP say Benjamin Bueckert of Gladstone was a passenger in the eastbound vehicle and he died from his injuries.
The driver of the same transport is in hospital with serious injuries.
No one else was injured and the investigation continues.
Highway 17 was closed for several hours as a result of the crash.
