A winter exploration program has been launched by Manitou Gold at its Kenwest property located about 35-kilometres south of Dryden.
The company says more than 1,800 metres of core will be drilled to learn more about the potential minerals located at the site.
Sampling conducted in November revealed signs of gold.
The material is still being analyzed with the results expected next month.
