Marathon Forced to Leave SIJHL

A tumultuous season has come to an end for the Marathon Renegades as the
second year team pulled out of the SIJHL Thursday.
President Al Cresswell says the move was made over concerns from the
players as to their health and safety if they continued to play with a
depleted roster.
The Renegades have been plagued with player defections and serious
injuries.
Cresswell says the move had nothing to do with financial concerns and
they will work with the league in returning next season.
The SIJHL has realigned its playoff format with the top 2 teams
receiving first round byes.
The opening round will remain a Best of 5 format.
