March For Justice Stops in Dryden

A walk across the country is hoping to see important change.
Leo Baskatawang, Clifford Acoby, Ashley Bottle and Edmond Jack are walking across Canada to see the government make changes to the Indian Act.
Baskatawang started the journey on April 23rd in Vancouver, with a copy of the Indian Act chained to him.
The group hopes to arrive in Ottawa by September 3.
The group stopped in Dryden yesterday, Baskatawang’s hometown.
Baskatawang says the government needs more aboriginal representation, and it needs to be elected by aboriginal people.
“Essentially the government managed to shelve aboriginal issues for another year, and for me that was what broke the camels back, so I decided to do something about it.”
Issues that will be brought to the Federal government’s attention are alcoholism, disease, unemployment.
“March for Justice” will be posting frequent updates on their Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/#!/March.4.Justice.
