In loving memory of Mark Thomas Walton, age 81 of
Dryden, who passed away on Friday April 30th ,at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Mark came to Dryden in 1971, he worked for the Ministry of Transportation as a Driver Examiner until retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 20 years and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He enjoyed painting and decorating for the social aspect of visiting, fishing and morning coffee with his son-in-law Gary. His Friday night ritual was dinner with Velma at the Central and then the meat draw at the Legion.
Mark has been described as “a real character”, he was quick witted and very charming. His sense of humor brought a smile to all who knew him.
Mark Walton is survived by his wife Velma Silver- Walton, children: Judy (Gary) Wrolstad of Dryden, Steven (Elaine) of Windsor, grandchildren Chris & Kari Wrolstad and Michelle Walton, sister Helen Roussy and extended family, nieces and nephews.
At Mark’s request there will be no Visitation, with a private family Memorial service.
Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Tamarac House, Thunder Bay through Dryden Community Funeral Home 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON P8N 2X3.
