Mask Mandate Remains In Place At Local Hospitals

While provincial mask mandates at health-care settings have come to an end, nothing has changed in Northwestern Ontario.

Hospital officials in Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake and Kenora all say mask and infection control protocols remain in place until further notice.

That means masks are required for staff, patients and visitors.

High COVID rates in our region are a factor in the decision.

Mask mandates remain in place in long-term care and retirement homes.

Ontario’s top doctor, Dr. Kieran Moore, has publicly stated they should stay in place until at least the summer of 2023.
