Massive Blaze in Kenora Area

Highway 596 in the Minaki area remains closed due to a huge forest fire that sparked yesterday afternoon.
Its believed that the blaze started out on Catherine Lake and grew to about 250 hectares Sunday evening.
Four water bombers have been working to contain the fire, but the MNR was required to evacuate a number of camps and cut the power supply to cottages.
There has been some property damage reported, but how extensive is still unclear.
The cause of the forest fire is also unknown at this point.
