Officials with the Dryden Walleye Masters Committee are exploring their options after Council turned down their written request for free Arena use during the 3-day June event.
Standard City policy requires community members to seek a delegation request prior to the Open meeting.
Joe Baran says his Committee will meet shortly to discuss the next course of action.
However, Baran says he’s upset that they didn’t get considered, stating the event brings in roughly $150,000-$200,000 in direct and in-direct revenue.
He says Red Lake and Kenora are major sponsors of Fishing events in their communities and noted they just wanted that same commitment here locally.
