The Chair of the Centennial Mosaic project says she’s shocked and extremely disappointed that Council has decided to not grant a request to move the proposed structure from Cooper Park to Johnsons Park.
Willene Moffatt says Council is not listening to local artists and has no respect for the individuals who have poured their hearts into the project.
Moffatt notes they requested the change in location because Cooper Park is cramped and holds no aesthetic value.
She stresses Johnsons Park is the perfect site because of its beauty and space.
The Dryden 2010 Committee and Downtown Revitalization Committee were also in support of the move.
