Matawa First Nations Upset With Ruling

They say it’s a decision that is damaging relationships between the Ontario Provincial Police and First Nations people in the region.
That is why the Matawa First Nations are asking that prosecutors file an appeal of the recent not guilty verdict handed down in the case of Geraldton OPP Constable Brian Bellefeuille.
He was acquitted of assaulting a prisoner he had in his custody.
