The provincial government is funding a new study looking at the shortage of maternity services in rural and northern Ontario.
Wendy Peterson is a local midwife and the only one working
northwestern Ontario west of Thunder Bay.
She says there is a definite need to review services available to pregnant women.

Work on the project recently go underway and Peterson says a final report is scheduled to be complete in another year.
