The Pittsburgh Penguins flag is now flying outside the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in Thunder Bay.
It was raised by the mayor Monday morning along side Penguins goalie Matt Murray.
Murray says he was honoured to be a part of the festivities.
He says he’s proud to be from Thunder Bay and he always dreamed of winning hockey’s biggest prize.
Tuesday, Murray will be showing off the Stanley Cup at various events.
He says the cup arrives at the airport at around 10:30am.
It will be at the Intercity Mall from Noon until 2 and there’s an event scheduled for Marina Park at 6 pm.
Murray also plans to take Lord Stanley to the hospital and will also get private time with friends and family.
