A Fort Frances man says the provincial NDP has been giving him the silent treatment since disqualifying him as a candidate.
Matt Soprovich has been told he can’t run because of photos posted a few years ago on social media.
Soprovich says he tried to discuss the specifics behind the party disqualifying him from the nomination process in the riding of Kenora-Rainy River.
He says emails and phone calls to party headquarters have so far gone unanswered.
Soprovich isn’t sure if he’ll continue to support the party, stressing he’s extremely disappointed, noting other candidates with questionable media posts in the past have been allowed to scrub them.
He believes he’s been treated unfairly, noting some within the party were looking for an excuse to get rid of him, stating the fix in.
Soprovich says he learned of the decision two weeks ago, and had been trying to fight it before going public.
