Minimum Wage Hike Costing Northern Businesses

A Lakehead University study on Ontario’s minimum wage increase suggests it’s putting 1,100 jobs at risk in the area.

An official with Restaurants Canada, James Rilett notes the study indicates businesses, like local restaurants, are at the highest risk for job losses.

Rilett suggests there will be a time when menu prices can’t go up any more and employees in the north will be impacted.

He notes the study results shocked him.
