Maurice Balla

In loving memory of Myroslaw “Maurice” Balla, age 82 years, who passed away at the Dryden Regional Health Centre on Monday, November 27, 2006, with his family at his side. Maurice was born September 24, 1924 in Zhoda Manitoba. Maurice is survived by his daughter Gale Gigolyk (Donald) and his sons Norman (Dawn) and Kevin (Nicole), all of Dryden, his six grandchildren; Kaylii, Jamie and Nicki Gigolyk; Russell, Cara and Leah Balla, his brothers Bohdan (Irene) Balla of Atikokan, sisters Olga Fosty of Zhoda, Manitoba and Lena (Pete) Owchar of Thunder Bay, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Maurice was predeceased by his parents Hryhory and Anna, brothers Nick, Alex, Mike and Earl. Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Maurice Balla will be held Thursday, November 30th at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Luigi Filippini officiating. Transfer to the Vita Funeral Home, Vita, Manitoba will follow with services and interment in the Balla Family Cemetery in Zhoda, Manitoba to take place Saturday. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 29th from 5:00 p.m. with prayers to be recited at 6:00 p.m. in the Stevens Funeral Homes Moffat Chapel. Should friends desire donations to the CT Scan Fund at the Dryden Regional Health Centre may be made through the Stevens Funeral Homes Moffat Chapel, P.O. Box 412, Dryden, Ontario. P8N 2Z1.
