MPP Bill Mauro says the risk of Bombardier losing all future contracts with the Toronto Transit Commission is very concerning.
The local plant is walking a fine line with the TTC for not delivering new streetcars on time.
Mauro says, that the Ontario government’s role in addressing these concerns will be to ensure the city of Toronto understands that, because the province is a major funder of the mass-transit procurement that goes on there, it has to meet a minimum Canadian content requirement.
He adds any decision to not consider Bombardier would have a very negative direct impact on employement here in Thunder Bay. (File photo)
