Mauro’s Bill On Six-Storey Wood Framed Buildings Passes

The province is adding some new safety requirements to its wood building code.
Starting January 1st building frames up to six storeys can be made out of wood.
Natural Resources Minster Bill Mauro says their regulations are the most rigorous in the country.
Mauro introduced the idea in 2012 as a private members bill and says it’s going to help boost the Forest Industry.
Roofs will have to be made out of combustion resistant materials.
