Maxime Bernier says he asked Kevin O’Leary to help him and to campaign with him for the past couple of weeks to ensure he had O’Leary supporter votes.
That’s according to Bernier, who has strengthened his quest to become the next leader of the Federal Conservatives, with O’Leary bowing out this week.
Speaking to CKDR News, Bernier stresses he now has a strong ally in his eventual bid to unseat Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Bernier says the Liberal government has abandoned our youth and future generation with high unemployment, big deficits and mounting debt.
He says the Conservatives must act quickly and he’s pleased he now has O’Leary on his side moving forward.
When asked if he is now the clear front-runner for the Conservative leadership, Bernier replied “I think so”.
Bernier says his team now has good momentum heading into “Decision Day” on May 27th
