Becoming More Costly To Smoke

Smokers in Ontario are paying more to light up.

Thursday’s budget included a $2 increase to a carton of cigarettes which went into effect Friday.

The price will increase another $10 by 2020.

The Ontario Convenience Stores Association is worried that will send more people to the underground tobacco market.

The Association says it was hoping for a stronger plan to deal with the growing rate of illegal tobacco sales.
