Dryden Mayor Craig Nuttall is urging Canada Post to reverse a decision to move mail sorting services to Thunder Bay.
The move was made in October in what officials stated was a bid to make the system more efficient.
Nuttall says the new way of sorting is far from efficient.
Nuttall notes he received a letter from in-town and it arrived three days after it was mailed.
The Mayor has sent a letter to Canada Post asking the agency to reconsider its decision.
He says the City relies on prompt movement of mail to ensure the delivery and receipt of important documentation.
Nuttall says the City spent roughly 55-thousand dollars on postage with Canada Post last year and the sorting service should remain in Dryden.
Nuttall adds the business community is also suffering with the change of service.
He’s also asking Kenora MP Greg Rickford to lobby for the change.
