Mayor Meets With MPAC Boss And Province

Talks continue between the City of Dryden and the provincial government regarding the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation and its mill assessments in northern Ontario.
Mayor Craig Nuttall says his recent trip to Toronto was a successful one, adding that the Ministry of Finance understands the city’s situation.
Nuttall also had a chance to speak with the President of MPAC about the property assessments.
He says he discussed how MPAC might change the way it does business.
Nuttall says another problem is how the municipalities are going to pay back what they owe.
He believes another meeting will be held in Thunder Bay at a later date to further discuss the situation.
