Mayor Of Red Lake Reacts To Provincial Budget

Phil Vinet says there were some good things that the minority Liberals brought forward, such as the funding for infrastructure, however he remains concerned about how the municipalities are committing to their level of funding to access those programs.
When it comes to mining in Northwestern Ontario, Vinet says he’s not as concerned about the actual mining but more so the infrastructure commitments to service the mining communities.
Vinet notes that this is a 1-year budget, and maybe it just wasn’t on the radar for this year.
He also pointed to the governments focus on the forestry industry, and hopes that some action will follow.
