Mayors from across Northern Ontario are coming together to demand a meeting with Premier Kathleen Wynne.
Dryden’s Craig Nuttall says they want to meet with Wynne as soon as possible to address the concerns associated with the mill assessments by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation.
Nuttall says the Premier is going to bankrupt a lot of municipalities if a solution is found anytime soon.
Nuttall says he’s going to ask council to do something about paying MPAC, and as far as he’s concerned the city shouldn’t pay them anything.
Other mayors on board include: Elk Lake Reeve Terry Fiset, Roy Avis of Fort Frances, Mike Lehoux of Espanola, Gilles Forget of Iroquois Falls and Keith Hobbs from Thunder Bay.
