The Northwestern Health Unit says it will be working with several large companies in northwestern Ontario to help prepare them for new smoke-free legislation that goes into
effect next year.
The Health Unit has received additional funding from the province for its smoke-free initiatives.
Jennifer McKibbon is a spokesperson for the Health Unit and says they will be working on a number of different levels.

McKibbon says they have partnered with Trus-Joist in Kenora, Weyerhaeuser in Dryden and Ear Falls, Goldcorp in Red Lake and Abitibi-Consolidated in Fort Frances on the smoking cessation pilot project for employees.
