Media Arts Programs Being Introduced To Area Libraries

An innovative new youth media program is being introduced in two communities in northwestern Ontario.

Laine Helbling is the Program Lead for the Digital Creator North Project and she says media arts spaces are being established at libraries in Sioux Lookout and Kenora.

Helbling says the spaces will be both unstructured drop-in sessions as well as structured workshops and programs.

Helbling says teens will be able to experiment with digital photography, photo production, graphic design, audio recordings and 3D art. S

he also mentions the program will allow youth to create their own media and tell their own story.
