A newly graduated nursing student says the Region stands to lose several medical professionals if the Province doesn’t act soon.
Dryden’s Kevin Crigger was stunned to learn the Government has quietly cancelled the ‘Free Tuition for Nurses Plan”, a Tory initiative aimed at recruitment efforts.
Crigger says he and others in the field feel expendable.
Crigger plans on staying in the community for the time being, but notes that others in his position are leaving for greener pastures.
The Government said Monday it would think about re-instating the program if there is enough interest shown.
