The former Chief and Deputy with the Ignace Volunteer Fire Department are upset with the Town after the lock codes at the Fire Hall were changed.
Tony Zappitelli and Paul Dufault quit recently after what Zappitelli calls a drastic and uncalled for move by Council.
Zappitelli says Council refused to grant a change in rank between the two but notes that at no time did they resign from the Fire Department.
He adds that after a total of 48 years experience, their best interest is the Department.
Ignace Mayor Hugh Broughton is away on holiday but Acting Mayor Dennis Smyk says the Town accepted their resignations and appointed an Acting Chief.
