Medical Officer Visits Region

Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health says public health services
in the Province are improving.
Dr. Shelia Basur has been spending the week touring the Region and
meeting with officials from the Northwestern Health Unit.
Basur says not only has the Government put more money into public
health, its also planning to create a new agency to oversee Health Units.
Basur says ever since the SARS outbreak 3-years ago, the Provincial
Government has put more resources into the public health system.
