Letters will be going out at the end of this month to students accepted into the first year of the Northern Ontario Medical School.
Over two thousand people applied to get in, but just 56 students will be accepted into the first year.
Dr. Dan Hunt is the vice-dean of the Northern Medical School and says they wanted to make sure northern residents had a good chance of being admitted.

Hunt says 24 of the first year students will end up in Thunder Bay at Lakehead University and 32 will be assigned to the Laurentian University campus of the Northern Ontario Medical School in Sudbury.
