Meetings in Kenora and Fort Frances

Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union representatives
will be hosting information meetings next week in Kenora and Fort Frances.
They’ll be outlining the union’s pension strategy to past and present employees of AbitibiBowater.
Labour negotiations with AbitibiBowater were suspended last week until the union secures a commitment from governments to help with the pension and restructuring issues.
The union has also requested a meeting with federal Finance
Minister Jim Flaherty to discuss its proposals.
