Its an end of an era for Mel Fisher.
The longtime Dryden Councilor attended his final meeting last night.
Fisher says it’s time for him to step aside and allow the City to get some fresh blood at the table.
Fisher apologized to the public for not completing his term, noting frustration has led to some health issues.
He says he felt it was time to get out of the way as he was no longer effective.
He adds he was having trouble communicating with his fellow colleagues.
Fisher was showered with praise at the meeting.
Mary Trist called him a champion of municipal workers rights, while Brian Collins calls his resignation a great loss.
