In loving memory of Melvin Brannan, age 74 years, who passed away in Princess Court on Tuesday, November 12th.
Melvin is survived by his wife Robbie, his daughters: Joy Coutts (Ron), Jill Lyle (Jim) and Jackie Dubois (Scott), by 6 grandchildren: Ashley and Jordan Coutts, Jeffrey and Jayden Lyle, Kelsey and Hannah Dubois, his brothers Doug Brannan of Dryden and Randy Brannan of Hamiota, Manitoba, his Aunt Lillian Flovick of International Falls as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was predeceased by his brother Kelvin in infancy, his parents Leonard and Carrie Brannan, and sisters Mildred Danis and Carol Fykes.
Melvin was born in Emo and grew up in the North Branch area. He came to Dryden and worked in the forestry industry for over 48 years running a chipper for Ricci Contracting at the end of his career.
Melvin’s grandchildren were the lights of his life and he loved sharing times with them including swimming, attending hockey games and walks in the park. He also loved his dog Snowy, enjoyed fishing and the outdoors and carpentry.
A Memorial Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 16th at 11:00 a.m. in First United Church with Rev. Werner Bloomfield officiating. Interment of ashes will take place in the Dryden Cemetery at a later date.
