Meno Ya Win Is Up To Date With Mammography

The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Center is up to date with its mammography equipment.
Vice President of Clinical Services and Research Barb Linkewich says the hospital’s breast cancer screening unit is already digital direct, so they won’t be making any changes.
In addition, the hospital one step closer to being certified by the Ontario Breast Screening Program.
Linkewich says it will allow them to do screening, diagnostics and later this year they will be doing biopsies.
This follows an announcement by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, as well as Cancer Care Ontario, to switch all machines from digital computed radiography to digital direct radiography.
