5 workers believed to have been contract employees on the Air Emissions project at Weyerhaeuser in Dryden have been found to have elevated levels of mercury in their blood prompting an investigation by the Ministry of Labour.
It’s believed the men worked in the Recovery and Steam Boiler areas of the Dryden facility.
Company Spokesperson Larry Lemmon says because of confidentiality concerns, they don’t even know who the men are.
The Ministry has told Weyerhaeuser no adverse health effects are expected.
