Midget Thistles Bounced From National Finals

A strong showing for the Kenora ‘AAA’ Midget Thistles at the Telus Cup West Regional’s.
The Thistles started their bid for the national championship by defeating the Parkland Rangers Thursday night 5-2.
They backed the effort up on Friday with a 1-1 tie with the Manitoba Midget League Champion Pembina Valley Hawks.
On Saturday, Kenora jumped out to a 3-1 lead over the Regina Pat Canadians.
However the effort would fall short as the Saskatchewan champions fought back to take a 4-3 win.
Kenora finished with a 1-1-1 round robin record and just missed a berth into the championship game.
The Pat Canadians went on to win the championship over Pembina Valley 7-1.
Several local athletes were on the Thistles roster.
