The Staal Foundation Open is set to host the Million Dollar Shootout at golf courses across the region.
Qualifiers for the closest to the pin event will be held in six regions next month, with the winners advancing to the final round in Thunder Bay and a chance to win $1-million.
The cost to enter is $5 for two shots or $10 for five shots.
Heather Vita is with the the Thunder Bay Regional Health Services Foundation and she says proceeds from the event will support families and children battling cancer.
Vita says local qualifiers will also receive accommodation in the Lakehead, will get to compete in the Can-op Pro-Am and get to watch the PGA event for free as a VIP.
